BRAD GOLDEN
Brad Golden (b. 1983) is a sculptor based in Ventura, California with a background in psychology and interior design. His self-taught practice began in childhood gathering scrap wood from his grandfather’s garage and letting his imagination run wild. That early curiosity evolved into a life-long devotion to sculpture that is now grounded in stone.
Golden’s sculptures are improvisational in direct carving, a practice that allows him to listen and respond to each stone as a collaborator. He draws inspiration from ancient traditions and global travel, as well as fleeting moments of human intimacy. His process stays fluid and intuitive — whether he's working in the mountains of Italy or a dusty stone yard in California. Recent works explore the raw integrity of natural materials through themes of connection, ambiguity and the human touch.
WORKS ON DISPLAY
TBD
I’m honored to share my work at Aspen Collective Gallery. This show feels like a homecoming. I grew up in Colorado and the mountains continue to shape my identity as an artist. The natural world has shaped this work so sharing it here at the source feels especially meaningful.
My practice is an exploration of what it means to be human: tender, complex, often uncertain. I am drawn to the ancient tradition of sculpture and to natural materials like stone that embody time, pressure, and transformation. Each piece holds a tension between form and feeling. Rather than offer answers, I hope the work invites deeper questions about connection, spirituality and our connection to the natural world.
